To get started you will need to go to the ClearCaster management page on the Wowza website. https://clearcaster.wowza.com/manage/encoders
Login with your Wowza credentials that are linked to your Clearcaster. Make sure you are in Universal Manager mode.
Activate your ClearCaster if you haven’t already by entering the activation code shown on the LCD in the box. Click on the Integrations tab and then click on the Generate a New ClearCaster API Key button.
Give the key a name and click on Generate a New ClearCaster API Key
Once the API key is generated, you will get one chance to store the details. Please copy and save the API Key, Secret Key and GraphiQL URL in a secure place.
Once you have securely saved your Wowza ClearCaster API credentials, log into the StreamShark portal and navigate to the Encoder Management section.
Click the +Add button to add a new Managed Encoder:
Give your encoder an Name, and tags (if desired). Enter the API Key and Secret that we saved earlier from the Wowza Clearcaster management portal. Once you have entered this information, select the Retrieve Encoders button to get a list of all Wowza ClearCaster encoders associated with these API credentials.
Select your desired encoder, then configure your preferred Primary and (if desired) Backup Ingest. Select the input to be AUTO and choose your preferred video quality settings - Encode Preset, Video Bitrate, Audio Bitrate, Audio Codec, H264 Profile and Keyframe interval. Alternatively - just leave them at the default settings.
Hit Save and your ClearCaster can now be managed by StreamShark, and dynamically linked to Events.
When you add a new event, you can select Managed Encoder as the Video Source, and select your Wowza ClearCaster as the Primary and/or Backup source.
Navigate to the Workflow tab and you will have controls available to you to start and stop the Managed Encoder, and check the health of the contribution stream.
